It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and after that Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
